Powertech appoints new director for Business Development and Marketing

Power Technologies (Pty) Ltd (Powertech), has appointed Mr. Vally Padayachee to the position of Executive Director for Business Development and Marketing with effect 2 April 2013. In this role he is also a member of the Powertech Board.
Padayachee holds a MSc (Eng) from the University of KwaZulu Natal as well as an MBA through Henly Business School. He is a seasoned engineering professional with over thirty years’ experience in the private sector and power utility environments having worked in the petrochemical, power and energy fields both locally and internationally. Padayachee has held senior management and executive level positions at Eskom. Subsequently at City Power Johannesburg, Padayachee held various positions with City Power and also acted as their President and CEO. His most recent position was as Chief Executive Officer of PDNA Resources and Energy, a major SA consulting engineering company.
Vally Padayachee was for many years an EXCO and Council Member of ECSA (The Engineering Council of SA) and also President of the AMEU (Association of Municipal Electrical Undertakings of Southern Africa). Furthermore, Padayachee served as a Council Member of The Institution of Certificated Mechanical and Electrical Engineers of South Africa (ICMEESA) and was the Editor of “The Certificated Engineer” for a short period.
