Triple extruded composite sleeve: ERIT

Typical Application

ERIT is a triple extruded composite joint sleeve. The combination of the inner elastomeric layer and the heatshrink middle layer provides a reliable insulation replacement over the connection of jointed cables.  The black outer layer is conductive and provides the screening function.

The sleeve is designed for the application in all types of joints for voltages up to 17,5kV. The sleeve is used as an integral part of Raychem Joints and will not be supplied as a separate item.

Typical Application

ERIH is a triple extruded composite joint sleeve. The combination of the inner elastomeric layer and the heatshrink middle layer provides a reliable insulation replacement over the connection of jointed cables.  The black outer layer is conductive and provides the screening function.

The sleeve is designed for the application in all types of joints for voltages up to 42 kV. Combined with additional insulation tubes the ERIH sleeves can also be used in joints for higher voltages.

Compound filled: Cast Iron Compound Filled Joint

The ABERDARE Cast Iron range of joints were first developed during early 1955. It was specificaly designed for jointing belted and screened type PILC cable up to and including 11kV.

The design has been rigorously tested and has a proven field record of over 45 years.  All the components of this system are 100% locally manufactured.

Heat shrink: RAYFIT The advanced heat-shrinkable joint sleeve for medium voltage joints up to 36 kV

Rayfit represents the new generation of heat-shrinkable jointing technology. It is based on a triple-extruded heat-shrinkable elastomeric joint sleeve component.  The system is suitable for paper and polymeric cable constructions and is designed to accommodate modern jointing requirements such as mechanical shear bolt connectors.
