TIS is a division of Powertech SA (Pty) Ltd. Izingwe Holdings, a Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) consortium, holds 25% of the equity in Powertech SA. The operating divisions of Powertech SA are TIS and IST; TIS was transferred to Powertech SA from Powertech Aberdare Cables while IST was acquired externally in 2007. These two operating divisions are part of the Powertech Systems Integrators group, and Powertech SA may in future include acquisitions that are strategically suitable to TIS and IST.
